You can enjoy a diverse and exciting range of cuisines in Nottingham restaurants, whatever style you fancy you’ll find yourself spoilt for choice.  To help we decided to put together details of some of our top recommendations for great food, a great night out and great value for money.

Nottingham Restaurants

I love Italian food and we are lucky to have some of the greatest Italian restaurants in Nottingham on our doorstep.  One of my all time favourites is Strada, conveniently only 5 minutes walk from the Apartments on Cranbrook Street.  The service is always impeccable and the pasta cooked to perfection and I have to recommend the Strozzapretti Salsiccia e Broccoli made with spicy luganica sausage and fresh red chili.

There are so many good Indian restaurants in I don’t know where to begin but our general manager Flori raves about MemSaab and I have to agree it is divine plus it is only a short 10 minute walk (about 1km).   Weekends are very busy so we would recommend reservations (just ask at reception and we’d be delighted to book for you).  The restaurant has won numerous awards for its perfectly spiced dishes.

For the best value restaurants I don;t think you can beat one of the Chinese restaurants in Nottingham city centre.  Round the corner from MemSaab on Upper Parliament Street is the Big Wok Chinese Buffet.  The all you can eat buffet has excellent quality dishes and as the chefs cook smaller batches the food is fresh and flavoursome.  With over 100 different dishes on the buffet and Japanese Sushi options all for under £10 it’s the perfect choice for a quick and delicious dinner.

For a small group (or you can’t make your mind up) I think Tapas is a fantastic choice.  No sitting wishing you ordered what your friend is having as you can have a little of everything you fancy.  For top Tapas in Nottingham pay a visit to Yamas.  As you may have guessed from the name (Yamas means Cheers in Greek) it’s serves dishes from around the Mediterranean giving you and your friends even more choice including a variety of meat, seafood, vegetarian dishes and salads prepared in Greek, Italian and Spanish styles.  The wine list is fairly short but carefully selected to match the punchy flavours and good value.  They also offer some great lunch specials for a quick bite.

I hope this quick guide gives you some inspiration.  We love hearing about your favourites and are always on the lookout for new places to try so why not share your suggestions on our Facebook page?

Welcome to our mini-guide to the very best World Cup Pubs in Nottingham.  After exhaustive research in the earlier stages, we’ve put together the list of the best pubs in Nottingham to watch the final this weekend.

Pitcher & Piano, Nottingham

One of the liveliest bars in the city centre and fun spot to enjoy the game is Nottingham’s Pitcher & Piano.  Located in the former Unitarian Church (can imagine former parishioners spinning in their graves) on High Pavement its less than 5 minutes walk from the apartments.  The game will be shown on screens around the huge venue and whether celebrating the win or commiserating your teams loss the party is guaranteed to continue all night.

With both teams from the continent it seems appropriate to watch the final in a cafe style bar so why not try Wax on Broad Street?  The exposed brickwork, modern interiors and cafe seating are the perfect place to enjoy glass of beer with the match showing on the big screens.

For the smokers, Lloyds No. 1 Bar Nottingham has a good outdoor seating area (heated just in case) for popping out between goals.  Inside it’s a pleasant place to bring the kids if you’ve a footy mad family and the same quality menu in most Wetherspoons’ for snacks or bite of lunch.  Its literally round the corner from the Apartments so only couple minutes walk away.

Over on Maid Marion Way is The Approach.  With 5 x 47″ screens and 2 massive projectors you’re guaranteed a great view no matter whether you’re getting the drinks in at the bar or relaxing on the sofas with friends.  The bar menu has some great choices including footie favourites Chunky Chip Butties and Steak & Ale Pies.

Aussie chain Walkabout’s Nottingham venue is one of our top recommendations for the chilled antipodean atmosphere.  All sporting matches are shown on the massive screens and afterwards the crowd is always up for a party and the DJ’s willingly oblige with mixes of the latest chart music.

No matter which venue you choose to watch this weekends matches we hope you enjoy the action.  You’d like to recommend any other Nottingham pubs for watching the beautiful game?  Please leave us a comment in the box below!
